Our featured speaker Michael Stone reviewed in depth the dangers of Proposition 32–the Special Expemptions Act at our September 8th meeting.

The measure is Anti-Union, takes away a union members’ voice in politics, and is riddled with special exemptions for corporate interests and billionaires. It’s backers claim it’s balanced, because the same ban on payroll deductions applies to corporations and unions, but unions collect dues through payroll deductions.  Corporations do not collect dues through payroll deductions, thus there are NO restrictions on corporations, Super PACS or other front groups  allowing them to spend unlimited amounts of money.  Stone’s presentation is below.
