Mark September 14 on your calender. The first two hours of “The Roosevelts: An Intimate History” will premiere on the PBS television channel at 8 p.m. . It will be repeated at 10 p.m.. The next six two hour segements will air at the same times on September 15 through the 20th. The compelling 14 hour documentary was produced and directed by Ken Burns. The iconic documentary filmmaker spent between six and seven years working on this ambitious endeavor. It tracks the lives of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, how their characters were shaped and the unique roles they played in making our nation and the world a better place to live. The documentary artfully blends photographs, motion pictures and drawings that Burns found in archives with narrations of words written by the Roosevelts in letters, diaries and speeches and new film of insightful commentaries made by 15 historians.
