
This is a great time for the U.S.! The quest for racial equality on all levels hits the mark!
U.S. Circuit Court Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson has been nominated to the Supreme Court. She is the FIRST Black female nominee. Jackson was molded by her predecessor and mentor, retiring Justice Stephen Breyer. She comes with a number of other top marks. She can be the first public defender to sit on SCOTUS. She can be the only member to have served on the U.S. Sentencing Commission. She can be the second sitting Justice with trial experience – Justice Sotomayor is the only other sitting justice with that experience. She can be only sitting Justice with criminal defense experience and the second Justice to have such experience – Justice Thurgood Marshall was the first.
