On July 1, San Marcos Democrats kick off their 2022-2023 Ready to Learn Project assisting Title 1, low income schools in the San Marcos Unified School District.
Everyone is invited to participate! Pass this along!
San Marcos Democrats are continuing to support schools in the San Marcos Unified School District with school supplies. The schools chosen are Title 1 (at least 40% of students are considered low-income) schools that serve underprivileged neighborhoods. Much of their school site budgets go to staffing with little left over for essentials and often expensive school supplies that the students need in order to fully engage in their learning. This is especially true for the upcoming school year. School budgets have been cut due to a decline in enrollment due to the COVID19 epidemic.
Starting July 1 and ending August 1, we are asking our members and community to make donations for San Marcos Elementary, San Marcos Middle School, and La Mirada Academy (K-8) for the 2022-2023 school year. Supplied must be received no later than August 1 to that supplies and backpacks can be delivered before school starts.
Donations can be made in any (or all) of the following ways:
- Purchase items from the list below and bring them to Kathy Steel’s or the Armstrong’s house*.
- Purchase items from the “Amazon Wish List” and the items are shipped directly to Kathy Steel.
- Purchase gift cards and bring them to Kathy Steel or the Armstrong’s. The Community Action Group will use the cards to purchase supplies.
