About Us

San Marcos Democrats

We are a large and very active group of progressive voters from North San Diego County dedicated to electing Democratic candidates to office in the local, state and national arena, fostering Democratic ideals by stimulating active interest in the Democratic Party, supporting the party platform, creating a pipeline to party leadership, providing a role for volunteers in politics and community, promoting an activist base, supporting community outreach and activism, ensuring fair redistricting, fighting for voting rights for all, donating to Democratic candidates, providing educational and instructional presentations, and acting as a liaison between all areas of our community. We are chartered by the San Diego County Democratic Party.
We are more than just a “club.” We inform ALL DEMOCRATS of vital events and viewpoints through our monthly newsletter, our website and our active social media sites. You do not need to be a member of the club to take advantage of all we offer.

As Democrats, we believe in a just and equitable society that secures the rights and respects the lives of all people, regardless of race, gender, income, nationality, culture, religious belief, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
We believe that health care is a right, not a privilege reserved only for those with the highest incomes, and support an effective system of universal health care.
We believe that humanity does indeed impact climate, and that we can and must take immediate action to halt and reverse the damage we have caused to  the only planet we have.

We believe that a strong social safety net is essential to the survival of our society.
We believe in a strong system of free public education from kindergarten through college.
We believe that the peaceful resolution of differences is always preferable to armed conflict, and that military force should only be used as a last resort and only in defense of the country.
We believe in putting people before profits, putting community before corporations, and in the synergy that comes from people working toward a common set of goals.
    We are loud, proud Democrats.
